Topofthegame showed fine resolution to hold on and win the Grade Three Betfred Heroes Handicap Hurdle at Sandown Park.
Seventeen runners lined-up for a race over just under three miles.
At the off it was Fourth Act who led Ubak and Beat That.
Fourth Act and Ubak continued to take the field along with Dashing Perk to the inside and then Beat That.
With a circuit to run, the order remained the same, with Fourth Act still the pace-setter from Ubak, heading away from the stands, with the field bunched behind them.
Racing down the back, the leading pair still led a packing field and taking the third last, Fourth Act held a slender advantage, but there were plenty in win chances.
Fourth Act and Uback led from Dashing Perk, Topofthegame and Melrose Boy into the straight.
Two out and Fourth Act was passed by Topofthegame on the stands side, with Melrose Boy and Golan Fortune the challengers.
Heading to the last it was Topofthegame in front but he started to drift across the track and Sam Twiston-Davies was hard at work to repel the challenge of Golan Fortune, who had been held up for much of the race.
However, the Paul Nicholls trained six year old held on to give his handler a treble on the day.
Melrose Boy kept on gamely for third, ahead of Irish challenger Folsom Blue.
