Hughie Morrison intends to give Telecaster a long break and will review his targets at the end of August.
The son of New Approach made a huge impression when defeating Too Darn Hot and Japan in the Group Two Dante Stakes at York in May.
However, he was eased down when last in the Investec Derby and lost his position in the Coral Eclipse Stakes at Sandown Park.
Speaking exclusively to Course Specialist, Morrison said:
“He has had quite a bit of racing on fast ground and he is too good a horse to risk.
“He is going to have a break now and we will see where we are at the end of August and whether to look at an autumn campaign or wait with him.”
