Santry remains on course for the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot following his impressive victory at York earlier this month.

Declan Carroll’s charge landed the first division of the Brocklesby at Doncaster on his racecourse bow and followed up with a two-and-a-quarter-length verdict in a novice event on the Knavesmire, despite having to concede 6lb.

Santry has since attracted some interest but he remains with Carroll, who is focused on his Ascot preparations.

The North Yorkshire handler said: “He came out of York absolutely fine, he’s in good form and the Norfolk Stakes is next.

“We’ve had a few people interested, but he’s still here and will be for Royal Ascot.

“We’ve always thought he was a good horse and it’s all about getting him ready for Ascot now.

“He’s a smashing horse and we’ve not really thought any further than Ascot, there’s no rush with him.”
