The well-entered Molatham continued his progression with a smooth victory in the Listed Weatherbys Global Stallions App Flying Scotsman Stakes.

Five juveniles took part in this seven-furlong race.

From the start it was Visinari and Berlin Tango who disputed the lead from Wichita and Tomfre, with Jim Crowley settling Molatham in last.

The steady gallop continued to the three-furlong marker, with Visinari injecting more pace but failing to shake off his rivals.

All five were in a line as they passed the furlong pole and it was Molatham who quickened best to move a length clear.

Wichita closed him down late on to get within half a length, but Molatham was always comfortably holding him.

The Roger Varian-trained Molatham, a son of Night Of Thunder, holds entries in the Group One Dewhurst Stakes and Vertem Futurity Stakes.

He had finished just a neck behind Mums Tipple on debut, before landing the Convivial Maiden Stakes at York.
