Japan and Too Darn Hot are the star names in what promises to be an exciting Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Dante Stakes at York.
Aidan O’Brien fields Japan, a son of Galileo, who beat stablemate Mount Everest in the Beresford Stakes at Naas in September.
John Gosden’s Too Darn Hot won all four races at two and was the Champion Juvenile Colt, with victory in the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket.
He hasn’t run since that October contest, having suffered a setback in the spring, which ruled him out of the Qipco 2,000 Guineas.
However, the Dubawi colt could head to the Derby with a big performance in the Dante Stakes.
Gosden also fields Turgenev.
Godolphin hopes rest on the Charlie Appleby-trained Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf victor Line Of Duty.
Roger Varian saddles the 14-length Newcastle winner Surfman, while Hughie Morrison is represented by the impressive Windsor scorer Telecaster.
Almania (Sir Michael Stoute) and Nayef Road (Mark Johnston) complete the quality field.
