Cracksman, the top-rated three-year-old in the world last year, will get this year’s bet365 Craven Meeting off to a flying start when he takes part in a racecourse gallop on Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse before racing commences on Tuesday (17th April).

Trained in Newmarket by John Gosden, Cracksman will be ridden in the gallop by his regular jockey, Frankie Dettori. He will work over a mile with one stablemate at 12.40pm, 70 minutes before the bet365 Craven Meeting gets under way with the running of the Alex Scott Maiden Stakes at 1.50pm.

A son of Frankel, Cracksman made a winning career debut on the Rowley Mile back in October 2016. Placed in both the English and Irish Derbies, he was victorious on each of his last three starts in 2017.

The gallop will be part of his preparation ahead of an intended reappearance in the Prix Ganay at ParisLongchamp in France on 29th April, although he is also entered in the Dunaden Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket on QIPCO 2,000 Guineas day, Saturday 5th May.
