Charlie Fellowes is planning a Royal Ascot raid with Endless Acres after admitting he is unlikely to get a run in the 188Bet Chester Cup.
The four-year-old still needs a number of runners to come out in order to make the final field for next week’s race.
Plans are now in place to give the son of Champs Elysees a short break before stepping up to two and a half miles to tackle next month’s Ascot Stakes.
Fellowes said: “He needs 12 to come out, so sadly it looks unlikely that Endless Acres is going to get in. It may not be the worst thing in the world as it can be a rough race.
“He has got lots of time on his side and is a very late developing horse that is only going to get better.
“I think that he is a really smart and exciting prospect for next year and the year after. Whatever he does this year is a real bonus.
“He is already rated 91 which is great, but we will probably put him away and go straight to Royal Ascot for the Ascot Stakes.
“He will absolutely love two and a half miles round there as he is incredibly relaxed and laid-back, which will give him every chance of staying the trip.”
