Another Touch won a stirring battle with Custom Cut to win the Listed Sky Bet Go-Racing-In-Yorkshire Summer Festival Pomfret Stakes at Pontefract this afternoon.

Rain had turned the going to soft for this one mile contest and a field of five took part.

As the quintet set out it was Custom Cut who broke best on the inside, while Gabrial missed the break and raced last.

Custom Cut and Danny Tudhope continued to lead with Battle Of Marathon second and then Another Touch and Tashweeq racing together, with Gabrial a couple of lengths adrift.

As the five turned for home, Custom Cut travelled well next to the rails with Battle Of Marathon under pressure and it was Another Touch who gave chase.

Inside the final furlong, Custom Cut’s stride shortened and Another Touch and Tony Hamilton gradually overhauled him, getting up close home to land the spoils, with a wide gap back to Gabrial in third, with Tashweeq next.

The Richard Fahey trained Another Touch, a four year old son of Arcano, was winning for the first time in pattern company here.
