Accidental Agent

Trainer Eve Johnson Houghton is hoping to get her Group 1 winner Accidental Agent back to winning ways in the Tattersalls Sovereign Stakes.  The five-year-old is one of eight runners for the Group Three mile contest at Salisbury Racecourse this Thursday.

After bypassing the Qatar Goodwood Festival due to quick ground, King Ottaker, trained by Charlie Fellowes, drops back in trip after placing third last time out in the Group 3 Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot.  He is one of five three-year-olds in the race, including Listed winner, Kick On, purchased at the Tattersalls October Book 2 Yearling Sale for 135,000 guineas, Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale graduates, Flashcard and Marie’s Diamond and the Tom Dascombe trained Great Scot.

The field is completed by Mojito and Tabarrak, trained by William Haggas and Richard Hannon respectively.

Charlie Fellowes, trainer of King Ottaker, told Tattersalls;“He had a lovely run at Royal Ascot. We felt that day, potentially, he didn’t quite get home. He was drawn wide and had to challenge wide, so he did well to finish third.

“We are dropping back to a mile off the back of that run which I hope will be ok. Ideally we want plenty of rain as it needs to be a bit of a stamina test.  He has been working very well at home and fingers crossed for a good run.”

The next sale scheduled to take place at Tattersalls is Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale, Europe’s premier yearling sale, 8th-10th October. The catalogue is now available online at www.tattersalls.com.
