Unfortunately became the latest Pattern winner for Karl Burke in Ireland, as he was produced late to land the Group Three Renaissance Stakes at Naas.

A field of six lined-up for this six-furlong event.

At the break it was St Patrick’s Day who went to the lead from St Brelades Bay and Fas.

St Patrick’s Day continued to take the field along passing the two furlong pole.

With a furlong to race, St Brelades Bay challenged, but down the outside, it was Unfortunately, who had been patiently ridden, who stormed home.

Late on he swept past St Patrick’s Day under Chris Hayes, to win a shade cleverly, with St Brelades Bay third.

Unfortunately was adding further lustre to a terrific month in Ireland, for trainer Karl Burke.
