Somehow was short of room but found a route to victory as she landed the Listed Victor McAlmont Memorial Stakes at Gowran Park this afternoon.

Creggs Pipes took the field along from Sea Swift and Chilli Spice through the early stages.

As the field turned Creggs Pipes continued to take the field along from Sea Swift, with Santa Monica on the inside in close order.

Turning into the home straight Creggs Pipes’ white face continued to show in front with Sea Swift challenging but with 1 ½ furlongs to run Laganore looked a big threat as Somehow made ground.

However, Somehow and Seamie Heffernan had little room between the weakening Sea Swift and Creggs Pipes and had to squeeze her way through.

But once in the clear, the Aidan O’Brien filly kicked on inside the final furlong and passed Laganore, going away for a snug victory, with the rallying Sea Swift getting back up for second, just ahead of Laganore, with Beautiful Morning third.
