Anibale Fly looks likely to complete his Cheltenham preparations in Saturday’s Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park.
Trainer Tony Martin has been keen to get a run into last season’s Cheltenham Gold Cup third, but has been thwarted by unsuitable going, withdrawing his charge from last weekend’s Irish Gold Cup.
The trainer commented:
“It looks like the Red Mills is our only option now. He’s in good form and we have done plenty with him since his run at Cork, but I’d like to get another run into him (before Cheltenham) to sharpen him up.
“It’s been frustrating having to take him out a few times because of the ground and the race in Gowran could be very competitive, but that’s where we are at the moment.”
