Willie Mullins has announced the retirement of his popular grey Ballycasey.
The 12 year old son of Presenting, owned by Rich Ricci, won the Grade Two PwC Champion Chase at Down Royal in 2016 and the following year won the Grade Two Red Mills Chase and Normans Grove Chases.
Ballycasey’s biggest success however, came in the Grade One Dr P.J. Moriarty Novice Chase at Leopardstown, when he beat future Gold Cup winner Don Cossack by four lengths.
He also twice contested the Grand National and more recently, had contested in cross-country races.
Mullins tweeted: “#Ballycasey has been retired today. A firm favourite in our yard for the last eight years and amongst his legion of racing fans. He has been a pleasure to train and given us some great days out”.
