Notebook jumped well and finished clear of his rivals in the Grade Two Elliott Group Craddockstown Novice Chase at Punchestown.

Six took part in this two-mile contest.

At flag fall, it was Mount Pelier who led from Notebook, while Éclair De Beaufeu nodded on landing at the first.

Down the back, Mount Pelier moved four lengths clear of Notebook and at halfway, the grey Scoir Mear was tailing off.

The lead was reduced as Notebook closed, with Éclair De Beaufeu and Moon Over Germany next and then Daly Tiger.

Turning out of the back, the front five were within three lengths of each other.

The long-time leader dropped back as Éclair De Beaufeu, to the outside, shaded Notebook, with Moon Over Germany next.

Turning for home, Notebook led Éclair De Beaufeu and this pair appeared to have it between them heading to the last.

Notebook and Rachael Blackmore took the last well and went clear on the flat, to beat the staying on Moon Over Germany by about five lengths from Mount Pelier and Éclair De Beaufeu.

Notebook was giving trainer Henry De Bromhead a fifth victory in the last ten years in this important contest.
