Hazapour put up a sparkling performance to win the Group Three Comer Group International Amethyst Stakes at Leopardstown.

A field of six went to post for this one mile contest.

As the stalls burst open, it was an even break and Dunkirk Harbour went on from Zuenoon, with the latter pulling to the front.

Settling down, Zuenoon led from Hazapour and Dunkirk Harbour, with Verbal Dexterity next and then Zibha and Psychedelic Funk.

Racing to the home turn, Zuenoon led from Hazapour, with a two length break to the under pressure Dunkirk Harbour.

Hazapour soon went on in the home straight and was chased by Verbal Dexterity and Zibha.

Verbal Dexterity tried hard to close, but failed to make much impression as Hazapour won for the second successive year on this card, this time under Oisin Orr.

Verbal Dexterity ran second, with Zibha third.

A year ago, Dermot Weld had landed the Derrinstown Derby Trial with Hazapour, but the four year old appeared to appreciate the drop in trip here.
