The good form of John Gosden and Frankie Dettori continued at Chantilly this afternoon as The Black Princess made all to land the Group 3 Prix Allez France.
Setting a steady pace from the off, the four year old daughter of Iffraaj was able to see off her rivals in the home straight to beat Armande by a comfortable 1 ¼ lengths, with That Which Is Not in third place.
“It was very straightforward because she is a nice filly and very uncomplicated. She’ll probably be better on softer ground and I knew she stays well, so I wasn’t going to sit there with no pace,” commented Frankie Dettori afterwards.
There was further British success on the card when Hughie Morrison’s four year old colt Marmelo landed the Group 3 Prix de Barbeville by 2 ½ lengths from Bateel.
