Freddy Head’s star filly Polydream, is set to attempt to defend her Group One crown in the Prix Maurice de Gheest, at Deauville, on August 4th.
Head has endured a trying season, with his stable badly out of form.
However, he is slowly turning the corner and Polydream confirmed that with her recent victory in the Group Three Prix de la Porte Maillot.
She is now set to return to Deauville and the scene of her greatest triumph, having defeated James Garfield by ½ a length 12 months ago.
Head said: “She did it very well. She ran a good race and has come out it very well.
“We’re going for the Prix Maurice de Gheest – the race she won last year.
“The timing of that race is good.”
Polydream’s victory was one of seven that Head has enjoyed in the race over 6 ½ furlongs, with Marchand D’Or and Moonlight Cloud, both winning it three times.
