Magic Lily ran out a convincing winner of the Group Two Balanchine at Meydan.
Eight fillies and mares lined-up for this nine-furlong contest on the turf.
From the gates it was Peri Lina who led and moved a length clear of Maamora, with Divine Image matching strides with Magic Lily.
The Turkish-trained mare Peri Lina continued to lead, but Maamora went on as they left the back.
Turning for home, Maamora held a slender advantage over Divine Image, with Magic Lily tracking these and then Nisreen.
Maamora plugged on next to the inside rails and saw off most of her rivals. But to the outside, Magic Lily gradually wore her down and was tracked through by old rival Nisreen. At the line, Magic Lily and William Buick ran out comfortable winners by about 1 ¼ lengths from Nisreen, with Maamora a game third, just ahead of Surrounding.
