Irish horse racing has been cancelled until at least April 19th, after Taoiseach Leo Varadkar announced that all sporting events will be cancelled as of midnight on Tuesday.

Irish racing had acted swiftly in response to the threat of coronavirus, but ensuring all fixtures took place behind closed doors, from March 13th.

However, as the danger increases, the Irish Government has upped the ante and banned all sporting events.

The BoyleSports Irish Grand National will now be lost, unless it is pushed backed to a later date.
