Frankie Dettori’s red-hot streak continued as he got German-trained filly Joplin up to win the Listed Qatar Prix de la Calonne – Fonds Europeen de l’Elevage at Deauville.

Ten older fillies and mares contested this one mile race.

From the break it was Dathanna who was well away and moved across to the stands’ rail, with Contrive also prominent, while Shepherd Market and Silvery Mist, raced together down the centre of the track.

Dathanna held the overall lead from Contrive, as they passed halfway, while Shepherd market also travelled well.

Contrive came to challenge the leader with 2 ½ furlongs to race, while Silvery Mist was the big danger.

Silvery Mist went on with a furlong to race, but Frankie Dettori and Joplin were travelling supremely well and the jockey, on the crest of a wave, went on in the final half a furlong for a comfortable win.

Di Fede was the best of a five-strong British raiding party, finishing third.
