Benie Des Dieux wins at Punchestown Image by

Willie Mullins is a regular raider at Auteuil’s big races and he is once again set to be strongly represented this weekend, as Benie Des Dieux and Rathvinden head to France to contest Grade One contests.

Mullins has won the Grande Course de Haies d’Auteuil, known as the French Champion Hurdle, on four occasions and Benie Des Dieux, who landed the Grade 1 Annie Power Mares Hurdle at the Punchestown festival for the second consecutive year, will head his challenge on Saturday.

Mullins said: “We have a good few entries for the Grande Course and Benie Des Dieux is a definite runner along with Melon and Yorkhill. We’ll decide whether to run any others in the next couple of days.”

Rathvinden, who ran third behind Tiger Roll in the Grand National last month, goes for the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris on Sunday.

Mullins said: “Rathvinden will run and our Irish Grand National winner Burrows Saint and Pleasant Company are also intended runners, while Acapella Bourgeois might also take his chance.”
