Houtzen, a dual Pattern Race scorer who is currently stabled in Newmarket prior to flying the flag for Australia in next month’s King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, will take part in a public gallop at the Rowley Mile Racecourse tomorrow (Friday) at 1.00pm, one hour before the track stages a seven-race card.

Houtzen will be ridden by Oisin Murphy and will be accompanied in the workout by her stablemate and travelling companion, Acqume, a sprint handicapper who will shortly be making her British debut.

Trained on the Gold Coast in Queensland by Toby Edmonds, Houtzen won in Group 3 company in both 2017 and 2018 as well as losing out by a short head in a Group 2 in Melbourne last September. She has been in Newmarket since late March and her training is being overseen by Edmonds’s son and assistant, Trent.
