Keeneland’s 2018 November Breeding Stock Sale, the largest and most important sale of its kind in the world, opens its 12-day run Monday at noon ET with an exclusive Book 1 session featuring 251 graded stakes-winning and stakes-producing fillies and mares and notable weanlings. Throughout the sale are a number of horses with connections to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships being held today and tomorrow at Churchill Downs.

The 4,513 horses cataloged to the entire sale, include 2,259 broodmares and racing or broodmare prospects, 1,789 weanlings, 454 horses of racing age and 11 stallions. The sale also includes the dispersal of Edward A. Cox Jr., Claiborne Farm agent, which has cataloged 22 horses, including broodmares and weanlings.

Book 1 includes such highly prized offerings as champion Lady Eli, bred to War Front for her first foal; Grade 1 winner Zipessa, bred to Medaglia d’Oro for her first foal; and these Grade 1 winners cataloged as racing or broodmare prospects: Lady Ivanka, Sailor’s Valentine, Union Strike and Vasilika.

Weanlings cataloged in Book 1 include a Tapit filly out of champion La Verdad and weanling half-sisters of champion and Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Arrogate and champion Honor Code.

TVG will present live coverage of the first five sessions of the sale.

Books 2-7, which begin with the second session on Tuesday, November 6th and run through the 12th session on Friday, November 16tgh, begin at 10 a.m.

Horses of racing age highlight sessions on Monday, November 12th and Tuesday, November 13th.

Consignors include Lane’s End, WinStar Farm, Taylor Made Sales Agency and ELiTE.

Among the 2018 graded stakes winners sold as horses of racing age during the November Sale are Whitney and Suburban winner Diversify, Highlander winner Long On Value and Leofric, recent winner of Keeneland’s Hagyard Fayette.
