A yearling gelding by the late Fame And Glory (Lot 152) topped day one of the November NH Sale when selling to Johnny Collins of Brown Island Stables for €42,000.
“He is good sort and will be for resale as a three-year-old, hopefully at the Derby Sale,” said Collins of the Peter Nolan Bloodstock-consigned gelding. “His sire has done well and I think his sire Montjeu is becoming a significant sire of sires, while I like Oscar as a broodmare sire.”
At this year’s Derby Sale, Fame And Glory led the sires’ table by aggregate, while his progeny sold at an average price of €82,909 with a top price of €185,000.
First-time Tattersalls Ireland consignors William Tilley and daughter Tuffy Tilley were more than satisfied with the sale of their Bluegate Stud-consigned Kayf Tara gelding for €37,000 to regular Tattersalls Ireland buyer Richard Frisby (Lot 123).
