The first day of the February Mixed Sale registered a turnover of €1,380,700 with a 66% clearance rate and an average of €11,568. The figures are not comparable to last year’s sale, which held the dispersal of the Moratalla and Fares’ breeding interests.

Eagerly awaited in the ring during the first day of the February Mixed Sale, the Pia Brandt trained AGNES (lot 25) was subject to a fierce bidding war, with Marco Bozzi finally coming out on top. Fourth in the Prix Penelope last season, the four-year-old filly with a rating of 92 most recently finished runner-up in the Prix Max Sicard. Hailing from the leading Wertheimer family of OCCUPANDISTE, the daughter of Planteur was knocked down for €135,000.

Offered from Serge Foucher’s stable, bids for black-type winner RUNNING D’OR (lot 97) reached €100,000, where she was knocked down to Matthew Houldsworth and Geoffrey Howson. This promising four-year-old filly recently took the Prix André Masséna Grande Course de Haies des 4 ans. The daughter of Archange d’Or is also from the family of Graded winner MISSY TATA.

Of the broodmares, LA PEDREDA (lot 164), offered in foal to U S Navy Flag from Haras de l’Hotellerie, was knocked down to Meridian International SARL for €75,000. A sister to Group winners NAAQOOS and BARASTRAIGHT by Danehill Dancer, she is also from the family of the talented VUE FANTASTIQUE.
