Wesley Ward feels Lady Aurelia is “blossoming” after the speedy filly completed her preparations for the Prix Morny with a workout at Keeneland on Thursday.
The juvenile was arguably the most impressive winner of Royal Ascot when blitzing the opposition in the Queen Mary.
Soon after the Deauville Group One over six furlongs was nominated as her next race, setting up a potentially mouth-watering clash with Aidan O’Brien’s Caravaggio.
“We’re nine days out, she’s ready, she’s had a couple of really stiff blows here,” Ward told Keeneland Racing.
“The filly she worked with is a four-year-old stakes filly, Hooligan. We just needed a target to run at and she’d hopefully go by and she did.
“She’s as good as she could be, now.
“She leaves Keeneland on Saturday morning and then at 7.30pm that night she has a direct flight to Paris.
“You’d expect good competition, it’s a Group One, they don’t give them away.
“We’re as ready as we’ve ever been, she’s matured, she’s blossoming, she’s very fast, has a beautiful mind and ships well.”
