John Gosden’s unbeaten Persuasive is likely to dip her toe into Group One company for the Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes on September 10.

The Dark Angel filly put up her most impressive display to date in what should have been her toughest test in the Atalanta Stakes at Sandown.

She looked well worth a step up in class there and a trip to Leopardstown is now on the cards, and with it a possible clash with Minding.

Chris Richardson, managing director of owners Cheveley Park Stud, said: “At the moment it’s looking like the Matron, but obviously that looks like it’s going to be a red-hot race.

“However, it looks like it’s going to slot in nicely time-wise.

“Her main autumn target is the Sun Chariot at Newmarket.”
