Ben Pauling intends to step Jaleo back up in class for a tilt at the 32Red Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton.
The four-year-old made his seasonal return, and first start for the Bourton-on-the-Water handler since joining from John Ferguson, a winning one at Lingfield earlier this month.
Plans are now in place to target the son of New Approach at the Grade Three event on January 14.
Pauling said: “Jaleo goes for the Lanzarote. I didn’t know much about him before he arrived.
“I thought he looked strong and much more a National Hunt type than a Flat type.
“He jumped brilliantly and travelled very well at Lingfield. I liked the way he picked up in the mud.
“I am very happy with him and I look forward to taking the next stage with him.”
